BYOD and The Stock Market Game

Students in Action with their device - using technology to follow a passion and interest! Approximately 85 students are investing and monitoring their ranking in the SIFMA Stock Market Game competition on a daily basis this Fall. Currently there are 1,003 competitive teams in the state vying for the status top Investor and winner. Students in Sports & Entertainment Marketing classes and Introduction to Business classes are using their mobile device and BYOD to access this dynamic game. Many students can be seen in the lunchroom, hallways and in class looking at their standings, investing and making decisions about what investments to make next. BYOD enables students to stay engaged during and after class. BYOD is used often in the computer lab because the app is often faster than using the lab computers. Approximately 40-50% of students are using BYOD to further their interest in the Stock Market.

Creating a Survey

I am building my survey now. I love surveys. Yes I know it sounds very weird but I love the design and trying to get answers from people. Using Google Forms to create a survey is a handy tool. The data collection and live results that come as people complete a survey are fascinating.

I hope you enjoyed learning a new tool. Think of ways you may use this personally as well as educationally for projects or as a method for collecting data. Data, as we are learning comes in all forms and has so many uses in every aspect of our lives.
